Background

Ecotricity were the first energy company in the world to let you choose a green energy tariff. Now they are the UK's leading supplier (last year they spent £7m on new sources of renewable energy) and are recommended by the likes of Smile, WWF and the Body Shop.

Brief

The web is a critical customer acquisition channel for Ecotricity. They called us in to consult on their underperforming site.

Solution

We performed wide-ranging digital marketing surgery. A brand new customer acquisition front-end was designed and developed along with email marketing tools. We audited the site's code and content and implemented changes to improve performance in search engines. We've also worked with Ecotricity's marketing team to implement affiliate and pay-per-click strategies.

Results

Over 70% of Ecotricity's new business comes via the digital channel. Since we started working with them site traffic has nearly doubled and the percentage of visitors who signup online to become new customers has increased by 60%.
