Our Work
Remploy
Background
Heard of them but not sure why? Remploy are an extraordinary business - a £0.25bn ethical corporation devoted to creating sustainable employment for disabled people. They've entrusted their entire digital strategy to us, including Real Jobs 4 Real People - a unique online jobs search designed to make it easy for disabled people to look for work.
Brief
Enable had to meet two serious challenges: how to positively represent disability, and simultaneously deliver an interface which meets the highest accessibility standards without compromising the site's communication goals.
Solution
The site features case studies of real disabled people in their own jobs, surrounded by their own colleagues. We're not inviting people to just get a job, we're asking them to 'Change Your Life'. We worked with Remploy's in-house marketing and IT teams, PR consultants and offline marketing agencies to create content that was clear, compelling and empowering for Remploy's customers.
To ensure its effectiveness the interface has been tested on users with a range of disabilities and we have a continual improvement programme in critical areas like the Job Search.
Results
Uptake from both employers and jobseekers has been phenomenal, with tens of thousands of job searches and hundreds of jobs on the site at any one time. Most importantly, there is a now a unique service creating economic independence for a sector of today's society that is poorly supported in the employment market and that can help create real social change.
